Annual Awards Program

AASCIPSW presents awards to persons who have made significant contributions in the area of SCI psychosocial rehabilitation. The awards are: the Essie Morgan Excellence Award, the James J. Peters Distinguished Service Award, the Clinical Performance Award, and the Organizational Achievement Award.

Selection Process

The AASCIPSW Membership Committee is charged with soliciting annual award nominations. Membership Committee members cannot nominate, write letters of support, or accept a nomination from the Association during their term of office on the Membership Committee. Members of the Board of Directors cannot accept a nomination for an award from the Association during their term of service on the Board, nor may they write letters of support for award nominees. The Committee reviews and rates all nominations and submits its recommendations to the Board of Directors for confirmation. Nominees are notified in writing of all decisions. All awards are presented during the Annual Conference. If an awardee is unable to attend the Annual Conference, the presentation will be made in absentia.
